Chester report: It didn't take long for the Blues to get their noses ahead, after Chris Simm was sent through and despite the attentions of 2 defenders closing him down, he picked his spot firing past Scott Hartley in the Buxton goal after just 3 minutes. Bradley Barraclough then had an opportunity to level matters up when he burst into the penalty area on 17 minutes, but a last ditch block prevented him getting the ball to former Blue Mark Reed, who was well placed inside the penalty area. Kieran Lugsden then went into the book for a challenge on Jerome Wright, that left the Chester player requiring treatment. Stefan Cox then seized on an opportunity to make it 2-0 but dragged his effort wide of the post from the edge of the area.
